I hesitate to write this, but I am pretty sure no one will read it.
In the US if there is a gas leak, it smells like rotten eggs.
In Italy, it smells like truffles?
I did some cooking last week and afterwards I experienced the aroma of truffles. I love to cook and I also do not want my home to smell like what I have had for dinner. I surmised that the cheese I used must have had truffles?
Around 3 a.m. I woke up and could not go back to sleep. Truffles? I discovered that the burner on my stove was turned on just a bit. Most gas stove tops in Taormina homes require a light. There are not pilot lights or ignitions in any of the homes I have been in.
I have had more than my fair share of wine, but how sobering it was to realize that I was breathing in gas fumes for about 8 hours, and I thank God the windows were open.
Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how was the play?
All is well and good, I promise.
