The Greeks were first to rule Sicily in what Italians would call our modern time. This would be in the last 2,300 years. Modern times.

After the Greeks, came the Roman’s, Arabs, Normans, or barbarians as they are described by tour guides, and the Spanish. These are the biggies. There have been lots of back and forth that never makes the history books.

Being here in Sicily everything takes on a new perspective. It has been wonderful to be on this side of the pond this last month. Everything and everyone in the United States is uptight.

Let the Sicilians be our guide. Don’t sweat it! This sort of thing happens every couple of hundred years. Look after each other and everything will work out just fine.
