Gray's Academy

The Museum of Evolution in Burgos defies my attempt to describe this museum. I have said “wow” more times that I can count.

PipIt makes sense that the museum is in this part of Spain. The archeological dig in Altapuerca is only 30 miles from Burgos. The site has revealed fossils that are hundreds of thousands years old? Again, wow! I find it difficult to comprehend that some of the fossils of our early ancestors are more than one million years old and they have been found 30 miles from Burgos.

I am traveling in the off season so there aren’t many opportunities for tours to out of the way places like Sierra de Atapuerca. I am happy to report the museum is one for my best of list.
